PRELIMINARY ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL FOR PAPERS - CSNSS'99
INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP on
COMPLEX SYSTEMS in NATURAL and SOCIAL SCIENCES (CSNSS'99)
October 14 - October 17, 1999, Kazimierz Dolny, Poland

PURPOSE OF CSNSS'99 WORKSHOP
The purpose of the CSNSS'99 workshop is to bring together
multidisciplinary groups of scientists working on applications of
complex systems and nonlinear dynamics in physics, chemistry,
mathematics, statistics, sociology, economy and finance. The workshop
will be a continuation of the series of similar meetings that took place
in Hungary (Matrafured 1995, Tata 1996 and Budapest 1997) and it is
intended to provide a forum to report research, discuss emerging topics
and gain new insights into:
- stochastic models of financial markets and option pricing
- collective character of opinion formation processes
- tests for determinism and nonlinear models of economical phenomena
- nonlinear econometrics
- synergetic and thermodynamical studies of socio-economical systems
- chaos in biology and medicine
- nonlinear models in physics and chemistry
- control of deterministic chaos.
A key motivation is to provide a common ground for an open dialogue
as well as for reporting research without favouring any particular
research constituency nor any specific way of modelling or issue in this
area. CSNSS'99 will seek to further the meaningful dialogue and exchange
of ideas between physicists, chemists, mathematicians, finance experts,
economists and sociologists.
The total number of participants will be limited to about 25-30
persons.

REGISTRATION and ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
You can register and submit an abstract:
- either by filling the Registration and
Abstract Form directly on the Conference WWW-Site (the
preferable way): http://www.if.pw.edu.pl/~complex
- or by sending your registration and abstract as an e-mail/regular
letter to the address given below. In such a case please include
your full affiliation, address, e-mail and fax.
The abstract should be contained in one page A4 format with 3cm

in the covering letter whether you prefer to present your contribution
as a talk or as a poster.
Registration and abstract
submission DEADLINE is 30. June 1999.

landscape and an interesting, old architecture the town attracts many
painters and tourists. A special bus will transfer participants from
Warsaw to Kazimierz Dolny on October 14. and from Kazimierz Dolny to
Warsaw on October 17. Participants who will not able to arrive to Warsaw
in time will need to take a train to the town Pulawy and a bus from
Pulawy to Kazimierz Dolny on their own to come to the Workshop.
