PRELIMINARY ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL
FOR PAPERS - CSNSS'02
INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP on
COMPLEX SYSTEMS in NATURAL and SOCIAL SCIENCES (CSNSS'02)
September 26 - September 29, 2002, Matrafured,
Hungary

PURPOSE OF CSNSS'02 WORKSHOP
The purpose of the CSNSS'01 workshop is to bring
together multidisciplinary groups of scientists working
on applications of complex systems and nonlinear dynamics
in physics, chemistry, mathematics, statistics,
sociology, economy and finance. The workshop will be a
continuation of the series of similar meetings that took
place in Hungary (Matrafured 1995, Tata 1996, Budapest
1997) and in Poland(Kazimierz
Dolny 1999, Zakopane 2000, Torun
2001)
and it is intended to provide a forum to report research,
discuss emerging topics and gain new insights into:
- irreversible thermodynamics
- thermodynamic constraints of economic activity
- irreversibility in economics
- nonlinear models in physics and chemistry
- stochastic models of financial markets and option
pricing
- collective character of opinion formation
processes
- tests for determinism and nonlinear models of
economical phenomena
- nonlinear econometrics
- synergetic and thermodynamical studies of socio-economic systems
- models of bank bankruptcies
- complex dynamics in medicine
- evolving networks
- models of internet
- time series analysis.
A key motivation is to provide a common ground for an
open dialogue as well as for reporting research without
favouring any particular research constituency nor any
specific way of modelling or issue in this area. CSNSS'02
will seek to further the meaningful dialogue and exchange
of ideas between physicists, chemists, mathematicians,
finance experts, economists and sociologists.
The total number of participants will be limited to
about 30-35 persons.
