- Relativity of time intervals and length,
- Lorentz transformation, spacetime, relativistic dynamics,
- relativistic energy and consequences of Einstein's equation
(mass defect, limits of signal transmission) - Doppler effect,
- Electromagnetism
- electric and magnetic fields, Maxwell equations,
- the spectrum of electromagnetic waves
(types and their properties) - light interference (light intensity, the coherence of light, interferometers)
- Diffraction (Huygens model)
- holography
- light in different media,
- refractive index, light dispersion, group and phase velocity
- total internal reflection, birefringence, optical nonlinearity,
- optical fibers (types and their parameters)
